The MICRO PANELS from the product ranges XV100, XV200, XV400, XVS400 and XVH300 have a registered amount of license points. License points are needed to run specific functions on the unit:
- Runtime for the visualization (GALILEO or EPAM)
- Communication (e.g. Ethernet, CANopen, Siemens MPI)
- Tools (e.g. CE Telediag, S7 PG router)
- XSoft-CoDeSys-2 runtime for PLC functionality (not possible with a XVH300)
To access the needed function of the unit you must activate a specific amount of license points. Standard units posses 140 license points on delivery and allow e.g.:
- Visualization functionality GALILEO runtime (100 license points)
- Communication to an external PLC via Siemens MPI (40 license points)
If the amount of registered license point on the unit is not enough to access all needed functions then the license points total has to be increased. For this you need one or more license product papers. License product papers can be order from your automation representative.
Determination of the necessary needed license points
- License points certificate for PLC function:
For the activation of the PLC function (XSoft-CoDeSys-2) a special license product paper is needed („PLC license product paper“). This includes a license sticker fitting to the unit that has to be applied to the unit because of legal licensing issues.
- License points certificates for visualization, communication and tools:
For the visualization, used communication and tools sum the total needed points for all functions. Communication to multiple units with the same protocol has to be paid for once. Subtract from this amount the already on the unit installed license points (e.g. 140). The difference is number of license points that have to be added over license product papers for communication and tools.
